Social business in the context of Gross National Hapiness
BAOWE and Context, international cooperation have written a background note for the BAOWE-BCCI “Seminar on Social business and Gross National Hapiness” held at Thimphu on 27th October 2010at BCCI Hall. This background note introduces social business as an opportunity of doing business differently within Bhutan’s national development vision of Gross National Happiness (GNH). Bhutan is unique in having such vision, initiated by the fourth King of Bhutan, which aims at sustainable development and wellbeing of people.

Successful launch of SROI practical guide
On November 11, 2010 a succesful launch of the SROI practical guide took place. It was an informal get together with partners, relations and co-creators of the guide. After an inspiring speech of Menno Salverda, Fons van der Velden (both Context, international cooperation), Meindert Witvliet (director Stichting Het Groene Woudt) and Peter Mbiyu ( (International Child Support Africa), the guide was presented by Fons van der Velden and accepted by Meindert Witvliet and Marleen Hasselerharm (programme director International Child Support). Among others, SHGW and ICS both played an important role in the realisation of the SROI practical guide.
